More Lizbot

 Lizbot...a work in progress. A character based upon a friend of mine. These sketches were inspired by Akira Toriyama (origina Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, etc..). Honestly I don't want to bite off his style too much (and I kinda think these sketches don't really bite off his style too much...) Well we'll see where this continues to go....

So these are sketches of a character a friend of mine came up with; based upon herself actually. There are more, I'll probably post them later...The character is suppose to be a robot...I don't know, at this point she seems too human, at least that's what I think. Eh, well there will be more to come...

A mermaid....?

It has been a while since I actually had a complete drawing ; or something close to one. Well here is a drawing of a mermaid that I did last week. I made this drawing specifically for a Facebook and e-mail
blast for Peggy O'neill's at Coney Island (Brooklyn, NY)- I also designed the ad as well.This mermaid was not the first I made for the ad.

This mermaid right here was the first;
a few differences; not sure why I decided not to go with this one (I think it was the eye...). Unfortunately I have to say both
drawings were rushed, and I did not spend enough time developing a mermaid with "more character" ....Then again I think
both drawings have some potential, and maybe I'll make more out of both of them in the future....

Here are some more sketches from 2008:

A new design....

...not sure what to call this yet...came up with it early this month. A friend invited me to a free performance at Carnegie Hall, and sometime during the performance a design on one of the instruments on stage (I forget which one) had caught my eye. Technically the design I'm displaying here is nothing like the original design I had seen on the instrument; it's kinda got the shape of it though. Honestly one of fears of posting anything I create online is that it might have already been done; or there is something remarkably similar to it floating around out there. Anyway, I'm going to keep playing with this design in the days to come; planning on making a few variations of it...
