Something strange this way comes....

 Started to conjure this weird eye-thing last night...Really trying to stir up some of that interesting creativity that lays within me. Well this idea/project will continue to be brewed....

 

For next time...

...probably going to be the inspiration of the next thing I work on. I actually had sketched this some time during the summer.

...an attempt

...it's been a few months....Well I haven't been sketching as much as I want to - but I do have some - unfortunately not a lot. This is "...an attempt"; to get into a habit. Attitude towards certain things is starting to change - effecting . A bit struggle to figure where I'm going with this compared to other times where I felt more certain - typical. But I grant it I think I'll keep on sketching manifesting that creativity (probably a method of not going insane). These sketches were recent - nothing special - loose inspiration from pics I found online (with the exception of one small character. There's a little bit of summer sketches I got; I guess I'll put them up later. I got ideas for small projects...Mental and conscious/subconscious distractions keep getting in the way...(excuses, excuses...)

And so it begins; or continues...(A battle...)

So, it's about time I start to manifest my recent visions on paper...And here it is, Cynical Quack against the negative forces of Paranoia and Doubt... Yeah it really is hard to see; it's more figurative than anything
Well as always these are just sketches - but really I believe I should have an actual finished end result by the start of the week. Honestly the character; Cynical Quack, is not really the fighting type; not that it can't, it's just that's not it's style. Cynical Quack is more of ...thinker; in fact that's what it mostly does, and believes that's pretty much the basis of it's existence... There's a whole lot more to this; more of a deeper plot - I'll reveal more once I put up more sketches and possibly a finished drawing.
Yeah, it doesn't fit with the supposed vibe of the holiday in progress, but it sorta relates to at least the vibe that's been brewing within me for a good amount of time - isn't that fair enough?

 

 

Acoustics and... galloping chariot...

As she strums her acoustic guitar of might she summons her chariot, pulled by steeds of white flames. She needs not whips or other devices the strumming of her mighty acoustic axe is what commands her mighty steeds...

These are merely sketches for now; originally what I had in mind was something more detailed, but ya' gotta start somewhere. And one of the reasons I'm posting these sketches, is a way of encouraging myself to actually complete this project; hopefully before or by the end of summer.
Technically this is not a random piece that I have sketched; it's something I was inspired to create. It started off as whimsical banter, but then that night I thought and said "...that would be awesome to draw..." I didn't really make a promise but really based upon feelings it's something I want to develop and create. So for a little over a month I have been thinking and drafting....
So as of now, sketch,sketch,sketch......

And oddly enough after a mere few doodles and drafts, I just got that feeling that she can become a character on her own...Technically she is kinda like a caricature/character so I won't really go too far on posting a whole lot as of yet until I get an okay....







This work in progress is definitely revealing my rustiness, and I think it will help me overcome my rustiness.


So here is to my inspiration (or muse).... hope she doesn't mind....

Shoo Demons Shoo

A semi quick sketch of Cynical Quack, being harassed by demons.
It's just a sketch for now, but it's an idea I definitely want to continue to develop into an ongoing theme. Still developing the origins of CQ (or lack there of...) but I think it would be cool if it had demons to fend off every now and then. We all have or develop our own demons every now and then; don't we? Giving CQ it's own demons might help any future or current viewers relate to the character in some way. Honestly I like to play with the idea of demons; figurative or literal...literal-well you know what I mean.
I definitely know I have my own demons I'm dealing with at the moment - thankfully they are not extreme; but they are annoying...especially at this hour, which is 3:37AM 5/25/11

So Here We Go... (Cynical Quack 2011)

....should have put this together last night-and I tried; but a little bit of fatigue and perfectionism got the best of me (sorry - ok no more excuses). Well, he's back; Cynical Quack (...that rhymes, heheh). With a good bit of unexpected positive motivation, Cynical Quack is being revived; but a bit annoyed...at me...It seems like I have had this character manifesting and developing in my mind for quite some time; and I have been a bit unfair to give Quack more...life. I had something a little bit more grander in mind; but probably better just to put something out there, and continue to develop more regularly. Well, it's time to put a bit more effort into this duck; we're not getting any younger....

Cap'n Knubs

 Captain Knubs a character a friend and I came up with back in March. Captain Knubs is currently the mascot of Eclectic Electric, a radio show that airs from Brooklyn College (CUNY)  Weds 3-5 pm @ http://mywbcr.com/ and 1090AM  Captain Knubs is still in development; origin is still  unknown. There has been talk and ideas about other characters, an actual world(or worlds), a surreal reality maybe.... yup more to come with this character; hopefully...

A bit of the old (A warm up...)

It's been a bit of time since I posted anything; at least I think. What can I say, I've been busy - a lame typical excuse. But really enough has been going on in my world; personal mostly. Well this blog is not exactly meant to be a life journal - maybe a little bit of info here and there - so for this time I will hold off on the details this time. For now here are some random sketches from the past;  the crazy rabbit with moose is  2008, the girl with attitude is probably 2005, and the wicked tree stump 2004. This post is a bit of warm up until I post something new - and I'm actually looking forward to posting some fresh sketches - a new project inspired and motivated by a certain someone...

Pandas Pandas...

Taking a small break from Lizbot; back to "Linda's panda". Been some time since there has been anything about Linda's panda; but I have been sketching drafts on what he or she would look like. I'm too much of a perfectionist at times (and sometimes the end result is not perfect regardless) as to why I take so long with these characters... Well, Linda's panda should be arriving soon....Jeez all this cuteness - not completely my kind of vibe...

More Lizbot

 Lizbot...a work in progress. A character based upon a friend of mine. These sketches were inspired by Akira Toriyama (origina Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, etc..). Honestly I don't want to bite off his style too much (and I kinda think these sketches don't really bite off his style too much...) Well we'll see where this continues to go....

So these are sketches of a character a friend of mine came up with; based upon herself actually. There are more, I'll probably post them later...The character is suppose to be a robot...I don't know, at this point she seems too human, at least that's what I think. Eh, well there will be more to come...
